Witches Tea Prep

I was visiting Heidi Ann's blog this morning, Foxgloves, Fabric & Folly, and she was mentioning a new season of the Martha Stewart show starts today. I, too, am fan of Martha's. I remember taking 7 hours baking a flourless cake, homemade chocolate ganche and chocolate leaves because it was on the cover of her magazine. Of course this was before hubby & kids. I even love to buy Weddings magazine to get ideas for my children's party business.
Yesterday, I just finished making Martha's Black Glitter Chandelier for my upcoming Witches Tea. The glitter is like fine sand. It turned out very pretty! It will hang above the smaller tea table.
Last year, I finally made her 6' witch silhouette out of plywood. I displayed her on the lawn and I had many neighbors complimenting me on how well she turned out. Here is the link to the pattern. I've been going a little nutty on collecting things for the tea. I fell in love with Bethany Lowe's Hobgoblin tea cups. I found vintage photo postcards of witches having tea...too perfect! I will be crafting the invitation out of this. Next, I found the same picture made into pendants for the party favors. I'm hiding them in mini cauldrons with batting on top (so it looks like something is brewing). I will also use these as the placecards. I got the great tablecloth from Home Goods. I found witches broom pens that I will use as a napkin decoration. Oh! I hope I'm not giving too much away. I better stop! Check back in for more surprises!

This shows how to make photos of little girls into paper-doll fairies. If you end up doing it, please drop me a line so I can see.

  9. Hi! I LOVE your website...so many GREAT ideas!! I have been planning a Witches Tea Party Bunko for this Oct. for about six months... but mostly just have ideas. I have a fabric block copy of the Welsh Tea Party witches that I made into a pillow. I have been searching - in vain - for postcards with them on it, to fashion the invitations, but can find them NOWHERE!!! Would you be willing to share with me, where you found them, and also, where you found the adorable matching pendants? I'd so love to get them to complete my party. Thanks in advance for any and all help! Marlene...at marleneravey@yahoo.com
