My daughter is in the 5th grade and they have been studying the different States. She focused on the state of Ohio. For Open House last night, the students had to bring in a food to share that represented their state. Since CocaCola is manufactured in Ohio, we made a CocaCola Cake.
I put samples in mini souffle cups and made tags for the sandwich picks.
You see these adorable frame stands from IKEA at every party!
I downloaded the CocaCola ii font for the signage.
I even got some red Gerbera daisies to put in Coke bottles for the display.
Not a drop came home! I found the recipe on
this blog. Use baking SODA instead of power so the cake will rise. From reading the comments, I found out that the buttermilk reacts better with the baking soda.
