Rose Bowl Swap Meet

If you are a regular visitor to my blog (thank you!) you know I mention I get a lot of my furnishings from the Rose Bowl Swap Meet. Cindy, from Cute Pink Stuff, mentioned that she had never been but would like to go and that she was waiting for her husband to take her. I knew it was up to me to intervene so I offered to give her the Grand Tour. Though we had never met each other before, we had a great time together!. It was as if we knew each other for years. Cindy arrived at my home at 7 am, made a quick stop at Starbuck's
and it was off to the Rose Bowl!

We started at my favorite booth (where I get most of my stuff) at Leila's, Booth #B1. When Cindy first got to my house, she immediately sat down on my bench on the front porch. I told her that it was from Leila! Below is one of her benches she had for sale today.
I just LOVE blue & white dishes!

A pink chandelier. Maybe I should have keep this a secret for a Pink Saturday post!

More chandeliers!

A fun Halloween display
I could have have just plopped onto this bench!
Leila made this fun birdhouse light. It sold very quickly!
One of Leila's chandeliers. She has made 3 of them for me. I bring her the tea cups and tea pots and then she makes the shades, chain cover and puts it all together for me for $100.

Vintage Christmas gift tags and stickers.

Vintage Christmas picks

This is a "Los Angeles" mannequin. I assume she visited one of the surgeons on Dr. 90210.
Adorable jewelry

These are my finds. A silver tray(quite heavy), a glass jar and a vintage baseball bat. My youngest son has a vintage baseball room and I will come up with something fabulous to do with the bat. Cindy got some great deals on a wrought iron tea cart, piano bench, wooden sewing caddy, covered silver butter dish and some iron wreaths. On the way home, we stopped at my favorite tea shop, The Tea Gardens, for a pumpkin scone. I am so glad I met a new friend! Thanks Cindy!

Pink Saturday-Tea Time!

For my daughter's first birthday, I threw her a tea party. For the invitation, I took sepia-toned pictures of her playing with a tea set. So naturally, we have been helping her collect tea sets- most of them are pink! Now for a tour of the tea cabinet!

This is a picture of Sheridan and I at her 1st birthday party.

This is a hand painted set with a picture of her first birthday with 4 generations of girls!

This is a view of the top of her tea cabinet. I believe the tea set is Franciscan.

The picture of the tea pot in the background is made from Sheridan's handprint.

The Old Country Roses set matches my own set!

I'm off to have a spot of tea! Go and visit all of the other pink lovelies at

How Sweet the Sound hosted by the lovely Beverly!

I appreciate each and every one of your comments!

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my blog. I really enjoy visiting all of yours out there in Blogland. I feel I have a whole new set of friends! :)

Vintage Halloween Swap

I had such a great time participating in Heidi Ann's swap from Foxgloves, Fabric & Folly.

My swap partner was Jen Smith from Rosey Little Things.

All of my gifts came wrapped in black tissue and orance lace bias tape. I was so excited about my package, that I forgot to take a picture of everything wrapped up! I love my cat pillow and handmade pumpkin. They look fabulous on my front porch bench! A fellow Girl Scout leader saw the pillow and is going to make it into a project for her Junior troop! Thanks for the inspiration, Jen!

I wore this to the pumpkin patch last week and

my 14 year old son commented on how cute it was!

This adorable "specimen tube" is filled with yummy candy corn. I'm sorry I don't have a good picture of the 2 Halloween magnets. They also came in spider stamped envelopes. Where is that picture of the vintage Halloween cupcake pick?

I believe Jen made this witch sign and those are real Scrabble tiles.

It looks so cute hanging on my banister.

This is a witch necklace that I sent to Jen. It is the same one I am

giving my guests at my Witches Tea.

I also sent her a few other little things: a big pumpkin, and little pumpkin for her curio cabinet and some candy corn for her 3 kids.

Pumpkin Pickin'

I have visited the same pumpkin patch every year, for the last 41 years. I sound like Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin! Last year, it was destroyed by the fires that swept through our valley and it looked like this was it for the fruit and vegtable stand. The community rallied around the family and made it better than ever! I am so glad that I can continue this tradition with my family every year!

Every year they have a scarecrow contest. this year's

Grand Prize winner was a Guardian Angel of the Pumpkin Patch!

Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday! Well, I'm back in my daughter's room! This is a picture I took of Sheridan when she was 2 1/2 and I had it made into a hand painted portrait. I found the artist on eBay and I think she lives in Georgia. Sorry, I can't remember. She did an amazing job. You have to get very close to it to see that it is a painting and not a photo.

Here is a milk glass lamp that is on her night stand and I covered the shade and added green beads to it. The mosaic picture frame is from the Rose Bowl Swap Meet (did you hear that Cindy?) It has a picture of Sheridan and her brothers at Zuma beach.

These little plates go so well with her Shabby Chic room.
Don't forget to visit all the other fun Pink blogs. They are listed here on Beverly's blog-

Fall Decorating-Disney Style

Main Street

California Adventure

Growing up in Southern California has allowed me to be a frequent visitor to the "Happiest place on Earth". My favorite time to come to Disneyland and California Adventure is Halloween Time! The fall has beautiful weather and less people. I just love of of the decorations!
