I tried to create the country fair where Esme Hogget wins all of her canning ribbons. I even put out a few of my jars of strawberry jam I made and a silver loving cup similar to Esme's.
Marina's son, Joseph, played some great music on his guitar while guests toasted marshmallows for s'mores. Marina also brough pink marshmallows and decorated them to look like piggies.
Right before the movie started, I spread a quilt out on the grass and the kids got to stuff their own "Babe" pigs to snuggle with during the movie and take home.
It was a great start to our 4th annual movie season. Next week, we will be screening "The Little Mermaid" because Chasen will be away at Boy Scout camp. :)
My 300th post is coming up and I have a BIG surprise...don't want to miss it!

I love your backyard movies. You are the only person I've known that has done this. How special for your friends. This is a memory that will never be forgotten by your kids.
Hugs,
Joanne

What a fun idea!
Where did you get the pigs to stuff?
wish we were neighbors-you always have the BEST movie nights!
This sounds like so much fun. Do you own your own projector and screen. Would love to do something similar but don't know if we could afford the set-up. Any advice?
I love the little mermaid...cant wait to see what you come up with!
Love this! And it totally reminds me that I want to host another backyard movie this year!
Such a cute and fun movie party, Donna!
You have the best themes for your movies! I SO wish we were your neighbors :)
So cute! Those stuffed pigs are precious. What a great favor. Can't wait to see what you do with "The Little Mermaid" -- that's one of my daughters' favorite movies to watch when our boys are away!
I love your backyard movie nights. They are always so well done.
We were inspired by your events and had our own backyard movie night last week. While it wasn't as "fancy," we sure enjoyed it.
I have posted my own little how to on my blog this week.
This is such a great idea! Your back yard movies look so fun. Love all the little details. I will be linking your fabulous party.
