Pink Potential Saturday

The "Bug" finally caught up with our family this past week. You know the one that gives you a runny nose, hacking cough that makes your chest feels like it's on fire and makes you so tired that you sleep all day and are up all night coughing. I have been going crazy on putting together my Alice in Wonderland party and last week I found these amazing GIANT stacked tea cups and saucers at the LA Flower Mart.

I plan on painting them and using them for the centerpiece of the table with colorful flowers bursting out of the top. But "The Bug" told me I would have to wait a little longer for my project.

I can't wait to make them look like these...the Tea Cups at Disneyland!Last weekend, I did have enough energy and sunshine to paint this 5 1/2 foot mural for my Best Friend's Doll Tea party. It is a Strawberry Shortcake theme where the guests stuff their own dolls and create a t-shirt for them and have a tea party together.

I know that strawberries don't grow on trees but it IS a cartoon depiction.
This is for a photo op where the girls are dressed in their pink feather boas, Strawberry Shortcake hats holding their new doll friend.

I used a black paint pen to outline and threw a little red glitter on the strawberries.
Hopefully I'll do a better job on the tea cups.
Have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

PS- I had to quaratine Stella. I don't want her getting sick. I'm afraid I haven't been very exciting this week!

if strawberries don't grow on trees, they SHOULD grow on trees!

Ahhhh, I'm so sorry you and yours have been under the weather.

My little gr. girl LOVES "Alice" these days (and 'Dorothy and Toto'--her gr.pa and I took her to an OZ exhibit and we've watched the A in W movie with her twice recently). Anyway, I will love to see what you do with your Party Theme!

Get well! L, Dana

Sure do hope you feel better! That yucky bug needs to move on!

Love the tea cups! They will be so cute once you add your special touch to them I'm sure.

Your painting is darling. I'm so silly I didn't even think about the strawberries not growing on the trees until you brought it up. LOL

Very cute, as is all your work!

I sure do hope that someday we get to meet in person! I'm such a big fan of yours!

Hugs,
Joanne

I love strawberries! I love the cups! Totally put up a pic of your after with the cups! That really is such a cool idea for a centerpiece. I grew up in Tampa FL and we went to Disney world all the time. I loved the Tea Cup ride and how sick I always go, but then would beg to go again!
Happy Pink Saturday!

I have been desperately trying to find some of those stacked teacups and flamingo mallets for my daughters Alice In Wonderland party in June. Any ideas of where I should be looking? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your ideas! This blog has kept me quite intrigued for hours!
